Terraform Bankruptcy Manager Sues Jane Street Over Terra Collapse
The court-appointed administrator overseeing Terraform Labs' bankruptcy, Todd Snyder, has filed a lawsuit against global trading firm Jane Street and two of its executives in a Manhattan federal court. The suit alleges that Jane Street used insider information to exacerbate the collapse of the Terra blockchain ecosystem in May 2022.
According to the complaint, Jane Street executed major token sales just hours before Terra's algorithmic stablecoin, TerraUSD, lost its peg—triggering a chain reaction that destabilized the ecosystem. The lawsuit highlights Jane Street's deepening involvement with Terraform in 2022, including alleged clandestine information sharing through former Terraform intern Bryce Pratt.
The case underscores lingering legal fallout from one of crypto's most spectacular failures. Terra's meltdown erased billions in market value and exposed vulnerabilities in algorithmic stablecoin design—a shadow still looming over the sector today.
